There was a great deal of excitement today as our pre-loaded framework of PVC/GRP stacks left our factory in Barry and started their journey to our site in Oxford.
Roperhurst MD Bob Lane said “Fabricating these stacks, ranging in size from 450mm ø to 1250mm ø was made easier using our CNC router and 4m butt fusion machine. These stacks have been designed and fabricated in accordance with BESA’s DW154, and reinforced in our in-house laminating workshop with fibreglass and finished in a dark grey gel coat.”
These pre-loaded stack assemblies represent the final stages of a project started in the summer of 2017. They will be transported with an escort vehicle and, using a 300 tonne crane, lifted over existing buildings and lowered into position later this week. Once in their new home, they will be connected to existing ranges of PVC and PVC/GRP ductwork that has been fabricated in our Barry factory and installed throughout the new building extension by our site teams, terminating at multiple fume cupboards and extract points.
Project manager Angel Ramos said “Although these are big units, this is typical of the size of project that Roperhurst can deliver. There are very few UK plastic fabrication companies with the capacity to design and manufacture to this scale, in-house. Our infrastructure and experience, alongside our commitment to training, BESA membership, ISO9001 certification and SSIP accreditation, means that we can offer a turnkey solution where others can’t.”
Roperhurst has been leading the way in plastic ductwork to DW154 for more than 40 years. Our experienced factory and site personnel have completed projects nationwide in PVC, PVC/GRP and PPs, and a variety of reference sites and customers are available.
