Roperhurst was approached by a repeat customer to cost for the supply and installation of a PVC fume extract system to DW154, to be part of the new £40 million facility Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus. On completion of tender documents and pre-contract meeting, Roperhurst was awarded the contract.
The safety-critical system comprised multiple fume cupboards, fume hoods and LEV equipment spread over multiple stories, with ductwork rising to plant room at roof level and discharging through multiple six-meter-high PVC/GRP exhaust stacks. The installation has been 100% leakage tested in accordance with BESA’s DW143 to confirm a sealed system.
This project ran smoothly but flexibility is a must and changes were introduced along the way to coordinate between the various site services. Additionally, the great British weather and the Atlantic Ocean did cause some issue when working outside.
Ultimately this was another DW154 plastic ductwork installation job completed on time, to the highest standard and within budget by Roperhurst.
