The HVCA became one of the first trade associations to be appointed a scheme operator under the Government-inspired TrustMark initiative in 2005. Since that time the Association’s domestic membership has overwhelmingly supported the scheme.
Roperhurst has been a long-standing member of the HVCA. It is a member of the ductwork group and the recently formed LEV branch, and its former Chief Executive Graham Handley was Chair of the steering group which published DW154 – the specification for plastic ductwork installation. Current MD Bob Lane is Chairman of the South Wales branch of the HVCA.
The TrustMark concept has been established to help consumers ensure that the trades-people they employ in their homes are reliable, competent and fully capable of providing a quality service at a fair price.
Because HVCA members are subjected to independent inspection and assessment of their technical competence and commercial capability under the criteria for HVCA membership, they automatically qualify for TrustMark membership.
The public can find HVCA TrustMark registered members via the Association’s own on-line search utility (trustmark.hvca.org.uk) which received an average of 64,000 hits per month in the first year of the scheme.
